Heroes Volume Five "Redemption"

The 2 hour season premier of Heroes premiered last night at 7pm. How was it you ask? Simply put...one of the best episodes Heroes has ever had. Season 1 of Heroes was incredible to say the least. Season 2 was great up until the writer's strike cut it down to 11 episodes. Season 3 part 1 lacked trying to catch up where season 2 fell short. Season 3 part 2 showed signs of recovery but was still not up to par. Luckily, the premier of season 4 was more than promising. If the writers can keep this up, I truly believe this could be the best season of Heroes yet.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The end up of Season 3(Volume 4) left us with a dead Nathan, a brainwashed Sylar who thought he was Nathan, an apearantly liquidated(literally) Tracy, a yet again full-powered Peter, and a sickly Hiro. Typical Heroes cliffhangers to say the least. But would Tim Kring have in store in the new season? Well, shall we review?

Rather than explain this in chronological order, I will start off with our beloved characters. Nathan is still dead. True, he has come back from the dead once or twice before, and he may do it again, but for now...it seems that he is pretty damn dead. As part of a sneak peak at the new season, the season 3 finale hinted at Sylar beginning to overcome his brainwashing, and in the season 4 premier, it's starting to get heavy. The subtle memory gaps here and there and bad enough for the ticking time bomb, but it gets really bad when Sylar...I mean Nathan....I mean Sylar...discovers he can move things with his mind and use electric powers. Now, as far as I know, it's unclear if the "new" Nathan knows that he can fly or not...although, I don't think Sylar can fly. So basically he's discovering he has abilities.....shwooo!!! This is confusing. Meanwhile, Peter, one of the biggest protagonist of the series, is finally do the super hero thing and using his powers for good. He had stolen Sylar's ability to steal multiple powers at the end of season 3, so yet again...Peter is BAD-ASS!!! Leaping around buildings like Spiderman, running around like the Flash, and ripping off car doors like Superman, Peter is saving lives as a paramedic. Oh, and after Noah asked for help with someone else that has abilities, Peter jumped at the idea. What's this? Peter has balls?!?!?! This is going to get interesting. Moving on we have one of the most popular characters of the show, Hiro. Hiro and Ando have started a "Dial a Hero" service. So far, their only job was rescuing a cat named Muffin Man, but that's not the big news. Are you ready? Here it is. Hiro is dieing. The headaches, nosebleeds and power-loss is due to some terminal illness not yet specified. Hiro is dieing, and despite knowing where it all started, he refused to change the past due to all the good he was done in his life so far. Pretty damn noble. Moving on we have the oh so hot Claire. Miss teen regenerator has gotten herself a G.E.D. and into college. She has taken on her old name (Bennet) again, and has decided to be herself. Cliche huh? She soon finds herself with a dead roommate and stuck in the middle of a murder mystery. Now who shall we discuss....ah yes, good ole crazy Matt Parkman. After brainwashing Sylar into thinking he was Nathan, Matt vowed to never use his powers again. Unfortunately, upon brainwashing him, Sylar was able to grab hold of Matt's mind using his abilities to understand how things work, and is not living within Matt's thoughts. He constantly appears before Matt and demands to know what happened to his body. I actually greatly appreciate how they writers did this. Well, that's all I got about Matt. Now, one more ole friend of ours, Tracy. the season 3 finale had Tracy shatter into a thousand pieces and then later materialize from water. Holy shit! It is revealed that freezing is just the beginning of her powers. It seems that as she is able to freeze objects, she can also manipulate water and transform into water. Because of this, she is able to pass through pipes and waterlines. Another great advantage that is shown in the season premier, she can not be hurt. As she is attacked, she is able to temporarily transform her body into water, taking on no damage. It's kind of like that guy from Naruto. You know, Sasuke's new teammate.

Alright, I think I covered the big events concerning the older characters. But guess what? There are new hereos in the pictures. Well, they could be villains, it's hard to tell yet. Without getting to deep into the story, basically we have a terrikenitc, an empath, and guy with super speed, and a time-traveler. They appear to be after a compass that looks to only work when held by someone with abilities. Oh, did I mention that the super speed guy has kukri knives!?!?! Awesome huh? Oh, and remember Danko? He's dead.

Well, that's all I got for my at work, no review/edit, no one's going to read this blog...blog. Until next time....Get out!

It is believed that on this same day, since pirates already talk like pirates, they choose not to talk in this manner. This is simply a myth. If one is caught not talking like a pirate on Talk Like A Pirate Day, they will find their booty pillaged. Anyways...here are some great resources so you can make your Talk Like A Pirate Day the best Talk Like A Pirate Day EVER!!!!!! ARRRGGGHHH!!!!!
